WHO WE ARE
IT ALL STARTED WITH A LITTLE WEEKEND SPARRING...
A while ago, a few of our combat sport enthusiast friends — casuals, weekend warriors, grown adults still playing "karate" with their boys — started meeting at our local gym every Sunday to get a few rounds in.
None of us were 'fighters,' most of us were out of shape, but we all had one thing in common:
We loved it.
THE WEEKNIGHT WARRIORS
We weren't the athletes you see on instagram - shredded with 18-pack abs, ripping pads like a psycho preparing for a fight.
We were regular people with jobs, kids, school... training when we could.
But the truth was, MOST martial artists were just like us.
Not professional athletes, or social media influencers.
Just earnest people trying to get better one round at a time, doing our best and building life-long friendships along the way.
THEN WE STARTED BUILDING
In 2024, we started making gear for the club.
It started with instep guards, because everyone was injuring their ankles from kicking elbows.
Then we made hand wraps... bag organizers... t-shirts...
All the things we wanted but couldn't find — designed by people who use it, tested by the club that inspired it, and refined until it was better than anything that was available.
Eventually, this lead to the idea of a gear bag that would knock out every pain point existing gear bags shared. One that was easy to use, organized and above all... tough.
It took nearly two years, but then 450 backers put up over $80,000 to tell us we weren't the only ones who wanted it.
And the Scuffle Duffle was born.
OUR PROMISE
Scraphouse was founded to build quality gear for quality people. We believe that our equipment should be as tough as the people who use it.
And so, we follow only a few basic principles:
- Create for the community, not shareholders
- Do not contribute disposable garbage into the world
- Products should be designed by people who use them
- Do things well, do things different, or don't do it at all
THAT'S SCRAPHOUSE
We're here to represent our community.
Those of us whose idea of 'fun' is a scrap with our buds.
Who choose to cultivate the fighting spirit instead of hiding it.
And we who'd rather forgive our enemies and fight our friends instead.
This house was built for us.
